Claire Luxton brings a giant illuminated red heart to Fitzrovia this Christmas

London is getting ready to sparkle this festive season, and Fitzrovia Quarter is adding something special to the Christmas landscape. From 12 November, a giant illuminated red heart by British contemporary artist Claire Luxton will float above Little Portland Street, bringing a little romance, warmth and unexpected magic to the West End. Titled Love Is in the Air Reprise, the striking three-dimensional installation draws on Luxton's original portrait artwork, Love Is in the Air, transforming it into a spectacular public artwork suspended above the street.

Created with the expertise of MTArt Agency, the glowing heart celebrates love in all its forms, from family and friendship to the people we choose to share our lives with. It's a lovely sentiment, particularly at a time of year when coming together feels especially important. Known for her extraordinary visual imagery, Claire Luxton's multidisciplinary work combines photography, immersive installations and storytelling, exploring themes of beauty, identity, nature and the female experience.

A Festive Stroll Through Fitzrovia

Just moments from Oxford Circus, Fitzrovia Quarter offers a welcome change of pace from the bustle of central London. Its characterful streets are home to an eclectic mix of independent boutiques, restaurants, cafés and stylish hotels. From dining destinations such as ROVI and Faros to independent favourites Fred Bakery and XO Chocolate, there's plenty to discover while enjoying a little Christmas shopping or meeting friends for lunch.

With festive events planned throughout the season and a magnificent glowing red heart lighting up Little Portland Street, Fitzrovia promises to be an especially lovely place to visit this Christmas.
