- Indulging in Culinary Delights at Th@51 Restaurant – Review
Th@51 Restaurant sets the stage for an unforgettable weekend brunch experience that promises to tantalize the senses and elevate your dining experience to new heights. Situated in the heart of St James, a short walk from St James or Victoria station this culinary gem offers a brunch affair like no other. From the moment you step foot into the restaurant, you are greeted with an ambience that exudes elegance and charm. The sophisticated decor, combined with warm hospitality, sets the tone for a memorable dining experience, with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The weekend brunch menu features a diverse array of culinary delights, drawing inspiration from global flavours. Each dish is crafted with precision and creativity, whether you’re craving classic brunch favourites or daring to explore new flavours, there is something to please every palate. We started off with The Goi Con, a delicate rice paper wrap filled with veggies and raw mango, it was a refreshing and light dish that awakened my palate. Following this delightful starter, we indulged in the Butter Garlic Prawns, a dish that showcased the restaurant’s expertise in seafood preparation. The tiger prawns were succulent and juicy, bathed in a luscious butter and garlic sauce that enhanced their natural sweetness. Moving on to the brunch special, my friend had the Lava Stone Grilled Cornfed Chicken. Cooked to perfection on a sizzling lava stone grill, the chicken was tender and flavoursome, with a smoky char that added depth to each bite, paired with truffle butter, fondant potato, carrot purée, and charred spring onion. I opted for the Airy Avocado Delight, offering a modern twist. The sourdough bread was light, topped with spiced guacamole that was creamy and indulgent. The addition of a perfectly poached egg added richness and depth, making it a brunch option that was both satisfying and delicious. We also ordered some side dishes. The Masala Chips were crispy and flavoursome, with just the right amount of spice. Meanwhile, the Herb Mushroom added a hearty and earthy element to the meal that was truly satisfying. To finish off the meal on a sweet note, we Indulged in the Waffle Nutella and Banana Split, as well as the Stack of Pancakes. Both desserts were decadent, with the waffle boasting a generous spread of Nutella and fresh banana slices, while the pancakes were topped with clotted cream, maple syrup, and a medley of berries. It was the perfect end to a truly unforgettable dining experience. While eating brunch we were treated to live music, the enchanting melodies added an extra layer of ambience, creating a truly delightful dining experience. Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 12.30pm – 4.00pm. Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in a leisurely brunch with loved ones, this dining destination exceeds expectations on every front. - Lucky Voice – Liverpool Street – Review
Tucked away in a hidden part of Devonshire Square, a very short walk from Liverpool Street is the new offering from Lucky Voice. As someone who has shied away from Karaoke bars due to an abysmal singing voice, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed my visit. It was a chance to sing my heart out in on of the private pods whilst enjoying amazing cocktails and scrumptious food! There’s a great vibe about the place with friendly, welcoming staff who were happy in catering to your needs. The cocktails were absolutely divine, and this coming from an ex-New York bartender is certainly saying a lot. My favourite has to be the tropical Rum flavoured “Gold Digger” followed closely by an appletini-type cocktail “Green light district” which was very fresh. The food menu is just as impressive with a good variety of small plates and pizzas that would satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. The Buffalo cauliflower “wings” with hot sauce are definitely worth trying. Following copious amounts of cocktails, I braved the singing booth, where my wannabe “Mariah” burst through, resulting in a certain amount of microphone hogging. The booths had everything you need, from a “thirsty” push button for more cocktails along with USB outlets for the inevitable low battery situation from recording far too many next day cringe worthy videos… Looking for an evening of fun, laughter and singing until your heart’s content? Lucky Voice is the place to be. You can book a private room for yourself if you’re feeling brave or with up to 30 of your mates. Where you can browse the 11,000+ song catalogue – covering everything from current chart hits to old-school classics.
