  • Review of Bōkan 37 in Canary Wharf

Set across the top three floors of the Novotel London Canary wharf, you will find Bōkan 37 Restaurant, offering a front-row seat to London’s skyline. From the moment you step inside, it feels like a hidden gem in the clouds. Think floor-to-ceiling windows, warm industrial-chic interiors, and a buzzing atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between laid-back and luxe. It’s ideal for a special date night, a long-overdue catch-up, or just a chance to treat yourself. We kicked off with a couple of standout starters. I had the Mexican Guacamole with Tomato Gel and Datterino Tomato Salad; fresh and zingy, this was comfort food with a fine-dining twist. My dining partner opted for the Cornish Crab with Avocado and Tomato Gel; light, delicate, and perfectly balanced with super fresh crab meat. For mains, I chose the Organic Tofu in Dashi Broth with Spring Vegetables, a bowl of clean, umami-rich flavours. The tofu was silky, the broth was packed with depth, and the seasonal veg added freshness and crunch. My friend went for the Courgette Risotto with Dried Tomato and Vegan Cheese, which was one of the key plant-based mains. Creamy, comforting, and full of flavour, a great option for vegan’s or lactose intolerant people who don’t want to miss out. Topped off with loads of colourful roast veg, this one was a feast for the eyes as well as the belly. We finished up by sharing a delightful raspberry meringue, which was a lovely balance of crisp and cloud-like, with a tart raspberry coulis cutting through the sweetness. Topped with plenty of whipped cream and pomegranate seeds, this was the perfect way to sign off the meal. With 360-degree views of London, Bōkan, is one of the best spots in the city for dinner with a view, even on a somewhat grizzly day the views are truly epic. The atmosphere, service and high-quality food make for an exceptional restaurant experience. Address: 40 Marsh Wall, London E14 9TP For more information and to book click here . • Review of Meet Bros - An Asian-Fusion Steakhouse in Paddington

At first glance, Meet Bros Asian-Fusion Steakhouse in Paddington looks like the kind of place you might grab a quick takeaway and head home. But don’t be fooled by its modest exterior—because once you step inside and head downstairs, you’re basically walking into a medieval castle that has a network of golden brick arches and deep recesses filled with illuminated artefacts. Think Indiana Jones without the mayhem. Our host for the evening was Oayes, one of the restaurant managers and easily one of the most enthusiastic people you’ll ever meet. He gave us the lowdown on the restaurant’s origins and offered us a couple of mocktails, which we gladly accepted. And honestly? They were so good; I didn’t even miss my usual glass of something alcoholic (which is saying a lot). We kicked things off with a trio of starters that came out swinging. First, the Pulled Crispy Duck with crepes, spring onion, cucumber, and hoisin sauce. Then, the Ribeye Beef with Cassava Chips and spicy Thai Danok sauce, flavourful, tender, and those cassava chips were exceptional. We also tried the Asian-style Guacamole, which was mashed at our table by Oayes himself.  All three starters were winners. Next came the mains - The Wagyu Fried Rice —chilli oil, kimchi, garlic rice, topped with a fluffy Japanese omelette. It was tasty, but something about the combo didn’t quite work for us. Still a good dish, just not our headliner. The winning dish goes to the BBQ Sesame Chilli Boneless Beef Short Ribs - melt in your mouth magic, sticky, rich, and unapologetically delicious. No surprise it’s their most popular dish, and it nearly came to blows for who got the last bit of beef. We also tried the Australian Grassfed Ribeye with Pepper Sauce, which was grilled and seasoned perfectly. We had variety of sides, the mashed potatoes were moreish, sautéed mushrooms and trio of vegetables. We somehow found room for dessert. The Banana Fritters wrapped in crunchy kataifi pastry were like a sweet carnival in your mouth. And the Baked Apple Filo Pastry was very nicely done. As the name suggests, Meet Bros isn’t your average steakhouse. it’s a fusion twist that adds the twist to a great dining experience. Everything’s halal, super fresh, and clearly made with a lot of talent. Address: 29-31 Craven Rd London W2 3BX For more information and click here . • A review of the Lymphatic Drainage Massage at Dimple Amani in Knightsbridge

Stepping into Dimple Amani’s salon in Knightsbridge is a sensory delight. The space is immaculately designed—lime-washed walls, plush seating, and shelves lined with luxurious beauty products. There’s a calm elegance in the air that instantly makes you feel like you’re in expert hands. I was greeted warmly at reception and took a moment to soak in the serene surroundings before my treatment. I had booked in for the lymphatic drainage massage—something my tired, overworked body was crying out for. I’ll admit, I hadn’t used a body brush in a long time so a lymphatic drainage massage was well overdue. My therapist arrived and led me upstairs to a softly lit treatment room, just as beautifully styled as the rest of the salon. The ambient music and scent of essential oils instantly began to melt away the tension. Once I was laid down an comfortable, warmed Amani Lymph Drain and Body Oil was applied and a lymph body tool was used in sweeping and sculpting movements. Warm oil is also poured gently onto my stomach—this part of the treatment focuses on digestion and bloating. The therapist applied pressure to targeted points across my abdomen, using rhythmic strokes to help release reduce water retention and blockages. While this section was slightly uncomfortable (especially with my sluggish digestion), I knew it was exactly what my gut needed. And sure enough, by the end of the session, my stomach looked visibly flatter and felt far more comfortable. Post-treatment, I was brought back to reception and offered a warming Ayurvedic tea that further helped settle my gut. Sitting there in the calm of the salon, sipping tea and feeling transformed, I was genuinely amazed by how different my body felt compared to just an hour earlier. Before leaving, I wandered downstairs and discovered the infrared spa tucked away—something I’ll definitely be booking next time. The entire salon is rooted in Ayurvedic wisdom, and you can sense that every treatment is delivered with care, intention, and expertise. If you’re looking to de-stress, detox, or simply indulge in some deep self-care, I can’t recommend the lymphatic drainage massage at Dimple Amani highly enough. It’s a holistic, healing experience—and the salon also offers a variety of treatments, from sculpting massages to nourishing facials. A visit here is more than a treatment—it’s a full-body reset.
