King’s Cross announces ‘Summer Sounds’, a free music festival from 10th-22th Augus

The much-loved annual free music festival King’s Cross Summer Sounds, formerly known as Cubitt Sessions, is once again popping at King’s Cross from 10th August to 22th August; 12 days of intoxicating and exhilarating sights and sounds in one of London’s most central areas.

Guests can expect live concerts every evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and from 1pm to 6pm on ‘Family Sundays’. Following the 2022 theme of Connected Communities, the sessions are all about celebrating the local cultural diversity of King’s Cross, with exhilarating performances from both local and global artists. Taking place in Coals Drop Yard. Festivities kick off on Wednesday 10th August with the world’s most celebrated Flamenco composer and guitarist, Paco Peña and Friends, who has performed everywhere from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Albert Hall.

•                Wed 10 Aug – Paco Peña & Friends •                Thu 11 Aug – Tacla, Gypsy jazzers from North Wales •                Fri 12 Aug – APRE pop duo supported by Zola Courtney, •                Sat 13 Aug – Evening of Songs from the Shows, Danial Boys & Guests •                Sun 14 Aug – A celebration of the piano featuring Iyad Sughayer (classical) and Ross Stanley (jazz) •                Mon 15 Aug – We are The Monsters, pioneering contemporary folk music •                Tue 16 Aug –   TBC •                Wed 17 Aug – TBC •                Thu 18 Aug – VOŁOSI •                Fri 19 Aug – Laurence Cummings & Royal Academy of Music Baroque Soloists •                Sat 20 Aug – Young artists from English National Opera •                Sun 21 Aug – A celebration of the Community Voice – London Community Gospel Choir

King’s Cross Summer Sounds is produced and directed by Martin Collins and presented in collaboration with Anthony Whitworth-Jones, English Folk Dance and Song Society, Kings Place, Lafayette and Tête à Tête.
