Burns Night Comes to Bethnal Green with ABERFELDY at The Sun Tavern

On Sunday 25th January 2026, East London cocktail bar The Sun Tavern will raise a glass to Scotland with a one day only Burns Night collaboration alongside ABERFELDY. The special event invites Londoners to celebrate the life and legacy of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns through an exclusive cocktail menu, complimentary haggis canapés and an evening of whisky led revelry.

For one night only, The Sun Tavern team will showcase a bespoke menu of ABERFELDY cocktails, all priced at £9.50, highlighting the Highland single malt’s depth and versatility. Serves include the Bobby Burns, a timeless combination of ABERFELDY 12 Year Old, sweet vermouth and Benedictine, alongside the Ooo Long One, which blends the whisky with vermouth, pear and fragrant oolong tea. The Mama Lady offers a brighter, citrus led profile, mixing ABERFELDY 12 Year Old with honey, marmalade and citrus notes. Those favouring a classic serve can opt for Beer & a Bump, pairing an ABERFELDY 18 Year Old Sangiovese cask dram with Umbrella London Ginger Beer from The Umbrella Project.

Adding to the traditional Burns Night experience, guests will be treated to free haggis canapés from Broadway Market stalwarts Deeney’s, available while stocks last. The evening begins at 4pm with a complimentary ABERFELDY whisky tasting, paired with artisan cheeses supplied by Hackney Road specialists Provisions Wine & Cheese. The tasting offers an accessible introduction to ABERFELDY’s range, guided in a relaxed and informal setting.

Throughout the night, guests can expect traditional readings of Burns’ poetry, including an Address to a Haggis, bringing a sense of ceremony and celebration to proceedings. Music will follow, with a DJ set from Rennie of The View closing out the evening.

Located on Bethnal Green Road, The Sun Tavern is best known for its extensive Irish whiskey and Poitín collections, but for Burns Night it will transform into a cosy Highland inspired hideaway. Expect warm hospitality, inventive yet classic cocktails and a fitting tribute to Scotland’s most celebrated bard.

To secure a place at the free ABERFELDY whisky and cheese tasting, book for 4pm on Sunday 25th January 2026 and quote “Whisky tasting” in the booking notes. To book click here.

Address: 441 Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 0AN.
