London's restaurant scene is never short of competition, yet Meet Bros, Shoreditch, has carved out its own niche by championing premium halal certified cuisine in a bright and welcoming Asian-fusion halal steakhouse. Born from a collaboration between Malaysian hospitality experts Chef Datuk Najib Hamid of the Malaysian hospitality group Serai Group
and Syed Ashraf Syed Ali, CEO of Palace Butcher Resources, showcases a passion for great food and warm service, the brand first made its mark in Paddington before setting its sights on East London. Thankfully for Shoreditch diners, this wasn't a case of "if it ain't broke, don’t fix it"; it was more a case of "if the steaks are this good, let's share them with more people.”
The Shoreditch restaurant brings together premium halal dining, Southeast Asian influences, premium cuts of meat and vegetarian options alongside impressively tasty alcohol-free beverages. From the moment we walked through the door, the atmosphere felt wonderfully welcoming.
The setting was bright and stylish, creating the perfect backdrop for catching up with friends and family over good food and drinks. Meet Bros feels right at home in one of London's most vibrant neighbourhoods with a concept built on bringing people together over memorable meals, and judging by the happy faces around the dining room, it's a recipe that's working rather well.
It features natural wood finishes, greenery, warm lighting and space for around 150 diners. Our server, Izzat, made the experience particularly enjoyable. Friendly, attentive and genuinely enthusiastic, he guided us through the menu, offered recommendations and ensured everything was spot on throughout our visit. Service can often make or break a dining experience, and Izzat's warm personality and professionalism were a real credit to the restaurant.

The menu at Meet Bros Shoreditch is wonderfully varied, offering everything from premium steaks and slow-cooked meats to Asian-inspired pasta dishes, burgers, seafood and tempting starters designed for sharing. Whether you're in the mood for a sizzling steak, a comforting lamb shank or something lighter from the seafood selection, there's plenty to tempt every appetite. Add a creative range of mocktails, indulgent desserts and portions that arrive with impressive generosity, and choosing what to order quickly becomes the evening's biggest challenge.
We started with Prawn Crostini, combining fresh flavours and crisp textures. The Steak Sandwiches, pillowy bread with tender, flavourful steak, were so good that the plate wascleared in record time, followed immediately by a discussion about whether ordering a second portion would be considered socially acceptable. We happily sampled two mocktails (who wouldn’t!), the Passionate was bright, fruity and refreshing, delivering a tropical medley of passion fruit pulp, pineapple juice, forest honey and rosemary, while the Midnight Blue arrived looking like a holiday postcard, combining pineapple, fresh lime and blue curaçao in a beautifully vibrant glass that disappeared surprisingly quickly.
For the main, Meet Bros continued to impress. The Lamb Shank was beautifully tender, slow- cooked to perfection and full of rich, comforting flavour, and paired with a smooth, indulgent Parisian mash. The Grilled Asian Prawn Fettuccine brought a lighter touch to the table, with perfectly cooked prawns and a deliciously flavourful sauce coating the pasta.
The star of the evening, however, was the Sizzling Beef Steak. Arriving at the table with an attention-grabbing sizzle, it certainly made an entrance. Thankfully, the flavour matched the theatre. Cooked beautifully and packed with flavour, it was everything a steak lover hopes for.
The servings are impressively hearty; halfway through the meal, we briefly considered requesting a larger stomach rather than a dessert menu. Despite being thoroughly defeated by the wonderfully generous portions throughout the evening, we somehow managed to find room to share the Chocolate Fondant with Vanilla Ice Cream. Rich, warm chocolate flowed from the centre with every spoonful, while the cool vanilla ice cream provided the perfect contrast. It was indulgent, comforting and utterly moreish—the sort of dessert that has you insisting you're too full for pudding before promptly polishing it off anyway.
A sweet ending to a thoroughly enjoyable meal. If you're looking for somewhere in Shoreditch where you can enjoy quality food combining the best of eastern and western flavours, Meet Bros is well worth a visit. Just make sure you arrive hungry.
