Review of Copper Chimney

For those looking to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine with a modern touch, Copper Chimney offers a menu that celebrates bold flavours, traditional cooking techniques and generous portions. Located in Westfield London, the restaurant combines a relaxed setting with dishes inspired by India’s rich culinary heritage, making it an ideal stop whether you’re shopping or simply looking for a memorable meal.

We started with two popular appetisers. The Aloo Tikki Chaat was packed with flavour, combining crispy potato patties with sweet and sour chickpeas, fresh chutneys and plenty of texture. It delivered the perfect balance of sweetness, spice and tang.

Alongside it, the Delhi Style Fried Chicken was a standout. Crispy on the outside and tender inside, the chicken was seasoned with hand-pounded garam masala, cayenne pepper and a blend of aromatic Indian spices, giving it plenty of warmth without overpowering the dish. From the grill, the Tandoori Sweet Potato offered something a little different. Cooked in the traditional tandoor and finished with the restaurant’s own tangy seasoning, it was smoky, soft and full of flavour.

The Lamb Seekh Kabab was equally impressive, with perfectly seasoned minced lamb infused with coriander and long pepper, creating a rich and satisfying bite. For the mains, the Parda Lamb Biryani was undoubtedly the star of the table. Served in a sealed pot, the fragrant saffron rice and tender marinated lamb created a beautifully aromatic dish that was both comforting and full of depth. The Bhuna Chicken complemented it perfectly, with succulent pieces of chicken slow cooked in a rich onion and tomato gravy that carried layers of warming spices.

To finish, we sampled two desserts that rounded off the meal beautifully. The refreshing mango and raspberry sorbet offered a light and fruity palate cleanser, while the Gajar Pistachio Crumble was rich, comforting and full of flavour. The slow-cooked carrot pudding, infused with cardamom and sweetened milk, was layered with chopped pistachios and a praline crumble, bringing together warm spices and crunchy textures in every spoonful.

From vibrant street food favourites to slow cooked classics, Copper Chimney delivers dishes that stay true to tradition while offering a contemporary dining experience. Whether you’re already a fan of Indian cuisine or looking to discover something new, it’s a restaurant that’s well worth adding to your list.
