Review of Studio Five at the Troubadour Wembley Park

If you're looking for a dining experience that offers both culinary delights and a touch of history, Studio Five at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre is where you need to be. Located within this state-of-the-art venue, once famous as Fountain Studios, home to iconic shows like The X Factor, Pop Idol, and Britain’s Got Talent. Studio Five offers a vibrant, relaxed setting that’s perfect for everything from a leisurely brunch with friends to a cosy date.

The restaurant itself exudes warmth and sophistication, with the buzz of the theatre adding a dynamic backdrop to the meal. Here’s a peek at what we enjoyed during our visit.

Starters: We kicked off with the Summer Vegetable Bhaji, which was a fantastic opener. Crispy on the outside and packed with vibrant flavours on the inside, the bhaji was complemented beautifully by the tangy green chutney, adding a refreshing balance to the dish. Then came the Grilled King Prawns, and wow—these were a highlight. Juicy and tender, the prawns were seasoned with chilli and ginger, bringing just the right amount of heat to elevate the natural sweetness of the prawns.

For the mains, we decided to go with two contrasting dishes to explore the variety Studio Five has to offer. First, the classic Fish and Chips. The cod fillet was encased in a lightly spiced batter, creating a crispy, golden shell while keeping the fish inside moist and flaky. Paired with minted pea purée and a fiery chilli ketchup, it was a familiar favourite with a subtle twist that made it memorable.

Our second main was the Crispy Fried Whole Aubergine, which was a surprising standout dish. The aubergine had an incredible texture—crisp on the outside and buttery soft within. Its flavours were complex yet comforting, with a slight smokiness that paired wonderfully with the sides we had chosen.

Speaking of sides, the Hand-Cut Chilli Fries were addictive. They had the perfect balance of crispiness and a gentle kick of spice, making them an excellent companion to both mains.

To finish, we indulged in two irresistible desserts. First up was the Stem Ginger Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was everything you’d expect from this beloved dessert—rich, warm, and decadent—with the added warmth of ginger giving it a delightful twist. Paired with a scoop of vanilla gelato, it was a comforting way to end the meal.

For those looking for a plant-based treat, the Vegan Summer Berry Crumble did not disappoint. The crumble was bursting with fresh, tangy berries, topped with a crunchy, golden topping and paired with smooth vanilla vegan gelato. It was the perfect balance of indulgence and lightness, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.

Studio Five is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience, seamlessly blending delicious, inventive dishes with the excitement of being in one of London's most iconic theatre venues. Whether you’re catching a show or just seeking a spot to unwind with good food and great company, Studio Five’s vibrant menu and cosy ambiance makes it a must-visit. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit!
