What to do for Halloween in London

Whether you’re after a spine-tingling Halloween immersive experience, a fang-tastic family workshop, a spooky day out with the little ones, or a chance of horror bingo, London has plenty of tricks (and treats!) up its sleeve. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite things to do this Halloween in London.

Prison Island´s Horror Story brings a Haunted Prison Experience to London This Halloween

Think you’re brave enough to enter? From 16th October, Prison Island gets a seriously spooky Halloween makeover, transforming into a haunted world where you’re part of the story. On exclusive Halloween nights, darkness takes over, eerie sounds echo through the corridors and the ghosts of Prison Island’s past come creeping back into their cells. And trust us, this is one prison break you won’t forget in a hurry.

Gather your bravest mates, teams of 2–5 players have just 60 minutes to battle their way from cell to cell, picking their own path and taking on a series of fiendish challenges. But there’s a catch: when the ghosts come out to play, you’ll need quick thinking, teamwork and plenty of courage to make it through.

Free Calavera Skull Trail at The Yards London

From 24th October to 1st November, The Yards Covent Garden will burst into colour for a spectacular celebration of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Expect live entertainment, immersive cultural experiences, family-friendly fun and special dining experiences. At the heart of the celebrations is an interactive Calavera Skull Trail, featuring six original skull characters hidden throughout The Yards.

Feeling creative? On Friday 30th October, families and budding artists can get stuck into a colourful Calavera skull painting and decorating workshop at Fair Shot Cafe, from 10am–12noon. Head upstairs, get your creative juices flowing and design your very own Day of the Dead-inspired skull to take home as a colourful keepsake. Tickets can be purchased here.

Thorpe Park unveils brand-new pitch black scare maze

Thorpe Park is turning up the fear factor this Halloween with Tenement, its first fully immersive, pitch-black scare maze. With nothing but a failing shared handheld light to guide the way, you’ll have to feel, listen and navigate your way through the darkness… and whatever might be lurking in it.

And that’s just the beginning. Tenement joins Thorpe Park’s terrifying line-up of spine-chilling scare mazes, scream-filled scare zones, spectacular live entertainment and some of the park’s most iconic rides, all with an extra dose of darkness. The fright fest runs on selected dates from 2 October to 1 November, from 3pm–9pm.
