Lone Design Club pop-up event from the 1st – 28th of September

Argentinian zero waste label D.R.Y will be in London for Fashion Month, showcasing its unique collections at the Lone Design Club pop-up event from the 1st – 28th of September on Regent Street. Founded by actress, dancer, environmentalist and designer Antonela Tonizzo, the sustainable fashion brand – which stands for Design, Recycled, You – calls the community to change our consumer habits, making clothes and accessories using recycled umbrellas, in an artisanal way.

After finding out the umbrellas are not recycled, Antonela decided to use their interest in fashion to do something about this particular waste. The umbrella stems are donated to women from the native Argentine Wichí community who transform them into knitting needles. Meanwhile, the scraps of fabric are donated to other enterprises that use them to fill dolls, cushions and patchwork. Finally, the plastic handles are donated for recycling.

The fabulous D.R.Y pieces will be available at Lone Design Club’s biggest and most exciting pop-up store yet, in partnership with the crown estate, for all things fashion, lifestyle and beauty. Taking place at 84-86 Regent Street, London, the event will bring together a curated selection of leading independent designers.

Visitors are invited to hear about the latest innovations in materials and manufacturing, learn about designers changing the industry through upcycling, reuse and rental, and connect with brands supporting charities and NGOs, offsetting their carbon footprint, pushing for b corp status or championing the movement for fair wages and ethical working conditions.

Throughout the month Lone Design Club will also be hosting a series of fashion shows, workshops, panel discussions, interactive installations, rentals and swaps, as well as online experiences. See you there for a unique opportunity to discover the next wave of independent conscious wear and experience the future of responsible, fair-trade and innovative products.
