Hidden beneath the bright lights of The Hippodrome, Chop Chop has become a favourite for authentic Cantonese dining long after most London kitchens have closed. Now, the late-night restaurant is unveiling its first refresh since opening in 2022, introducing a revamped interior alongside an exciting selection of new dishes and cocktails.
The refreshed space feels brighter and more contemporary, with neon koi fish accents and additional booth seating creating a vibrant setting for everything from post-theatre suppers to late-night feasts. During the launch event, we were treated to a preview tasting of the new menu, beginning with a selection of the restaurant's latest dim sum. Highlights included spicy chicken siu mai, pork and shiitake mushroom dumplings, alongside steamed buns filled with Chinese sausage, showcasing the craftsmanship behind Chop Chop's handcrafted Cantonese favourites.

The larger plates offered a glimpse into the menu's bold flavours, with the fiery Sichuan dried chilli diced chicken delivering just the right amount of heat, while Chop Chop's crispy pork spare ribs proved rich, sticky and packed with flavour. Signature favourites, including the renowned Hong Kong-style roast duck with rice and lobster noodles with ginger and spring onions, remain firmly on the menu.
The drinks menu has also welcomed new additions, including the Golden Koi, a tropical cocktail blending rum, peach liqueur, ginger syrup, pineapple and mango juice. To finish, guests can look forward to an exclusive collaboration with Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, featuring flavours including Ube, Hojicha, Milo and White Rabbit, alongside the Chop Chop Espresso Melt, an East-meets-West twist on the classic affogato.
Open daily until 4am, Chop Chop continues to cement its reputation as one of London's go-to destinations for authentic Cantonese dining in the heart of the West End.
