Canary Wharf’s much-loved Summer Screens returns to Canada Square Park from Thursday 4th June to Tuesday 1st September, bringing with it a packed three-month programme of free open-air entertainment set against the Wharf’s iconic skyline.
A staple of London’s summer calendar, the large-scale outdoor screen once again transforms the park into a hub for film, sport, gaming and live events. At the heart of the programme is Film Club, showcasing a crowd-pleasing mix of blockbusters, cult classics and family favourites. Highlights this year include Wicked: For Good, Barbie, Mamma Mia and Grease, alongside newer releases such as Superman and the BAFTA award-winning I Swear. Weekend mornings lean into family-friendly viewing, with titles including Wall-E, Monsters Inc and Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.
Beyond film, Summer Screens doubles is a go-to destination for live sport. Visitors can catch daily coverage of the Wimbledon Championships from late June through to the finals in July, alongside key cricket fixtures across the season, making it an ideal spot for relaxed, al fresco viewing.
Interactive entertainment also returns in full force. The ever-popular Mario Kart Championship will run across the summer, while Sounds Familiar brings its high-energy, party-style music quiz to the big screen on selected dates.
This year also coincides with the launch of Sea Lanes Canary Wharf, a new open-water swimming pool in the dock, celebrated with a series of aquatic-themed film screenings including The Shape of Water and The Little Mermaid. With more than 320 shops, bars and restaurants just moments away, Summer Screens offers an easy, all-day outing in one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
