Greenwich Peninsula Celebrates the Year of the Horse

Greenwich Peninsula will welcome the Lunar New Year in style on Saturday 21 February 2026, hosting celebrations for the Year of the Horse. Taking place from 12pm to 5pm, this free, family-friendly event brings together traditional performance, contemporary culture and East Asian.

Visitors can expect colourful dragon and lion dances weaving through Design District, alongside a live performance programme and roaming entertainers, including stilt walkers. The Eastern Margins market will showcase East Asian food, art and community traders, while tea tastings will run throughout the afternoon for those keen to explore traditional flavours.

Music lovers can enjoy DJ sets at Canteen Food Hall & Bar, which will also host a striking lantern installation. A Henan art exhibition curated in collaboration with the China Henan Chamber of Commerce will also be held.

You can also sign up for creative workshops, such as woodblock printing, calligraphy or Mahjong & GO for £5 per session, to book click here.
