A Guide to Greenwich Peninsula Design District

A Guide to Greenwich Peninsula Design District

Creative, colourful and constantly evolving, Greenwich Peninsula's Design District is one of London's most exciting destinations for art, architecture, food and independent businesses. Situated on the banks of the River Thames beside the iconic O2, this purpose-built creative quarter brings together striking contemporary buildings, innovative workspaces, galleries, cafés and cultural events.

Designed by leading architects from around the world, the district's bold, vibrant streets are a destination in themselves, with eye-catching architecture, public art installations and a lively programme of exhibitions and workshops. Whether you're looking to browse independent makers, enjoy a coffee in a stylish setting or simply soak up the creative atmosphere, the Design District offers a refreshing alternative to London's more traditional attractions. Getting here couldn't be easier.

The Design District is just a two-minute walk from North Greenwich Underground Station on the Jubilee line, providing direct connections to London Bridge, Canary Wharf and the West End. Visitors can also arrive via the Thames Clippers river bus service, which stops at North Greenwich Pier and offers one of the most scenic journeys in London.

We have rounded up a few of our favourite places to go to when visiting Greenwich Peninsula

Firepit Art Gallery

Located on the banks of the Thames, Firepit Art Gallery is one of Greenwich Peninsula's most distinctive creative spaces. More than just a gallery, it operates as a cultural hub hosting exhibitions, workshops, talks, performances and community events throughout the year. The venue was founded by artist Marcus Jake, whose vision was to create an inclusive, artist-led space where creativity could thrive alongside community engagement. As a non-profit social enterprise, Firepit supports emerging artists, creative residencies and local initiatives, helping to make contemporary art accessible to a wider audience. The result is a welcoming and inspiring venue that perfectly reflects the creative energy of the Design District.
