The Dean Munich Now Open

The Dean Munich is now open, bringing the Irish lifestyle hotel brand's bold design led approach to Bavaria. Located in Munich's creative Westend neighbourhood, the 281 room property is the brand's largest hotel to date and follows the opening of The Dean Berlin earlier this year.

Designed by internationally acclaimed interior designer Tatjana von Stein, the hotel draws on Munich's rich cultural identity, blending elegant Jugendstil influences with the city's vibrant 1980s nightlife heritage.

Art plays a central role throughout the hotel, with a site-specific programme titled The City Beneath the City, curated by Christian Ganzenberg. Showcasing works by Munich-based contemporary artists, the collection transforms the hotel into a living gallery, with installations and commissions woven throughout its guest rooms, corridors and communal spaces.

Thoughtfully designed guest rooms feature calming green tones, bespoke DS & Durga fragrances inspired by Ireland's landscapes, and smart technology, while the striking public spaces combine lacquered finishes, custom furnishings, and vintage pieces to create a warm yet contemporary atmosphere.

More than just a hotel, foodies can discover Ibasho, The Dean Munich's new Japanese restaurant, launching exclusively at the hotel. Led by consultant chef Alex Craciun, the menu celebrates precision and seasonality, with highlights including signature pressed sushi, premium sashimi, robata-grilled dishes and an extensive sake and cocktail programme. Guests can also unwind at Power, The Dean's signature wellness concept, offering an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, treatment rooms and music-led fitness classes alongside dedicated recovery facilities.

Situated just moments from Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt and the banks of the River Isar, The Dean Munich provides a stylish base for exploring one of Germany's most dynamic cities, combining contemporary hospitality with art, design, wellness and exceptional dining.

Price: Rooms start from €225 per night.

Address: Bavaria, Landsberger Str. 68, 80339 München, Germany

The Battersea Games has returned for a second year of sports with a 100m running track, climbing wall, and all manner of activities including Padel and table tennis to get you inspired alongside the Paris Olympics and Paralympics Fanzone during August and September.

All the activities are free to access and suitable for all ages, giving you the chance to try your hand at something new or old while the sun shines! Indoors in the Grade II* listed Power Station, a climbing wall will give you the chance to race to the ceiling of Turbine Hall B and check out the views of the historic building - how many places in the world can you do that?

The free activities are running until 8th September 2024.
