Ever wondered what it would be like to walk through ancient Babylon, sail down the Nile or stand among the mysterious Moai of Rapa Nui? London's newest immersive experience is offering exactly that, as TIMEWALK opens its doors at Immerse LDN on the ExCeL London Waterfront. Designed as a journey through 12,000 years of human history, TIMEWALK swaps traditional museum displays for vast, multi-sensory environments; using cinematic visuals, immersive sound and cutting-edge technology to transport visitors into some of the world's greatest ancient civilisations.
The adventure begins at Göbeklitepe, one of the world's oldest known monumental sites, before travelling through Babylon, Ancient Egypt, the Maya civilisation and Rapa Nui. Along the way, visitors can wander beneath towering monuments, experience ancient cities brought back to life and discover how different civilisations lived, worshipped and understood the world around them.
While the spectacle is impressive, there's plenty of substance behind it. The experience has been developed using archaeological and historical research, with a 25-language audio guide providing additional insight throughout the journey. There are interactive experiences for kids and encounters with costumed historical characters and a hands-on archaeological dig, making this an engaging alternative to learning about ancient history from a textbook.
Whether you're fascinated by ancient civilisations, searching for an educational family day out or simply fancy escaping modern-day London for a few hours, TIMEWALK offers an ambitious new way to experience the past. TIMEWALK is now open at Immerse LDN, ExCeL London Waterfront. General admission starts from £24.90, with children's tickets from £20.50.
