Living a fast-paced London lifestyle means self-care often slips to the bottom of the priority list and with a toddler in tow, it barely makes the list at all. So when I was invited to experience a facial by the renowned Su-Man, I jumped at the chance. What I didn’t expect was to leave feeling genuinely honoured to have been treated by her. This was, without question, a facial like no other.
From the moment I stepped into the Sofitel Spa in central London, I was enveloped in calm. The space is serene and welcoming, instantly encouraging you to slow down. As I waited, I found myself admiring Su-Man’s award-winning skincare products elegantly displayed on the shelves, a sign that I was in expert hands. When Su-Man herself greeted me, her warmth, energy and radiant smile immediately put me at ease.
Su-Man’s Myofascial Facial is rooted in ancient Chinese healing traditions and focuses on myofascial release, using specialised tools that glide over key pressure points. The treatment begins with a steam cleanse, followed by extractions, before Su-Man expertly applies the Bo Jin technique to sculpt the face and release deep-seated tension.
The neck, shoulder and ear massage was nothing short of extraordinary. This isn’t a “drift-off” massage, it’s deep, purposeful and intense, designed to unlock blockages and restore flow. It felt powerful and invigorating, and I was completely absorbed in the experience. Su-Man then used gua sha on my face, enhancing circulation and balance.
While her signature nourishing mask worked its magic, Su-Man turned her attention to my lower legs and feet, continuing to release tension throughout the body. When I finally stood up and looked in the mirror, the results were undeniable. My face looked lifted (no surgery here...), brighter and radient. I was genuinely amazed, but the true star of the experience was Su-Man herself. Yes, the facial is an investment, but once you’ve experienced it, you will understand exactly why.
