Lights, Camera… Greenwich: Secret Cinema Finds Its Forever Stage in London’s Riverside Playground

Secret Cinema is set to establish a long-term flagship home at Greenwich Peninsula, marking a major new chapter for the global immersive entertainment company. Scheduled to open in late 2026, subject to planning permission, the purpose-built venue will anchor the riverside neighbourhood’s growing reputation as one of London’s most dynamic cultural destinations.

Already home to The O2 and the Design District, Greenwich Peninsula attracts more than 24 million visitors each year and continues to evolve with an expanding mix of arts, dining and entertainment. Secret Cinema’s proposed residency, expected to span up to a decade, signals a significant investment in both the area and the future of immersive storytelling.

With more than 18 years of experience and over 1.5 million audience members worldwide, Secret Cinema has become synonymous with large-scale, theatrical experiences that blur the line between screen and reality. From productions inspired by Grease, Star Wars, Stranger Things and Casino Royale, the company has built a reputation for transporting audiences into fully realised cinematic worlds.

The new venue will offer a permanent home for these ambitious productions, designed specifically to enhance the scale and detail of each experience. Located just moments from North Greenwich station and set along the Thames, it is expected to attract both Londoners and international visitors alike.

Beyond entertainment, the development will contribute to the local economy, creating jobs and strengthening Greenwich Peninsula’s position as a leading hub for culture, creativity and community in the capital.

Address: Greenwich Peninsula, London, United Kingdom SE10 0SQ
