Cocktails with a taste of art in every sip at cloudM, citizenM Tower of London - Review

I recently had the pleasure of visiting cloudM, the rooftop bar atop the citizenM Tower of London, renowned for its panoramic views of the Thames and the Tower of London. With the launch of their new art-inspired cocktail menu, my first visit to this chic seventh-floor bar became a memorable experience blending culture, and creativity with sumptuous cocktails.

The menu introduces three signature cocktails, each artfully crafted and inspired by iconic works. We began with the Queen Bea, a tribute to Andy Warhol’s portrait of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. This TITO’s handmaid vodka-based cocktail,  infused with St Germain, triple sec, grapefruit, vanilla, lemongrass syrup, and a dash of lemon juice, was the standout of the evening. The balance of citrus and vanilla gave it a smooth, refreshing quality, making each sip feel like a little pop-art masterpiece.

Next, we tried the Horizon Swell. Inspired by Warren Neidich’s surfer-themed piece, Untitled, housed at citizenM London Bankside. This cocktail transported us straight to a tropical paradise. With Doorly’s Three-Year-Old White Barbados Rum, falernum liqueur, and tropical notes of apple, coconut, vanilla, and pineapple. This drink combined a bright, beachside sweetness with a subtle winter twist from Tiki bitters. It was the perfect blend of warmth and vibrancy, echoing summer waves and the spirit of adventure.

Finally, we savoured the Lemon Cowboy 2. This creamy, comforting drink is a fusion of Bacardi Spiced Rum, Drambuie, caramel syrup, and a spoonful of lemon curd. Inspired by a more rustic, bold style, this cocktail offered a delightful contrast with its rich caramel sweetness balanced by the tartness of lemon. It felt like a cozy, warm embrace, perfect for winding down.

For art enthusiasts and cocktail lovers alike, cloudM at citizenM Tower of London is an elevated experience that brings creativity to life in every sip. With an ambiance as captivating as its cocktails, this rooftop gem is more than a bar—it’s a canvas where flavour and art merge in delicious harmony.
