Who doesn’t love a Christmas market? The free festive market has returned to London Bridge City and will be open until Sunday the 2nd January with iconic views of Tower Bridge, the City skyline and The Tower of London. The market will be serving up festive food and drinks with seasonal entertainment – think choir singing, morris dancers and much more. All of the entertainment will be free to enjoy, and bars will be serving up festive tipples until 10pm. To give back to the community, 14 charities will also be onsite to raise money and awareness for their chosen cause. There will be a number of food traders serving up dishes from all over the world, including Aroma – Steak and Chips serving Brazilian food, Burger & Fries providing gourmet street food, Chilli Cha Cha serving Punjabi fast food, Nicholas Pitta dishing up slow-cooked Greek souvlaki and much more. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, make sure you try Choc ‘n’ Churros, Chocolate Kisses serving German chocolates or French Patisserie for mouth-watering French pastries and desserts. Two bars, The Riverside Lodge and Festive spirit will be open until 10pm. At The Riverside Lodge, alpine themed lodges that are fully heated will be available for advance pre-booking with friends; kick back and watch Christmas themed films or dance the night away to live DJs throughout the week. Seed Library is the latest cocktail bar popping up in Shoreditch, the creation of acclaimed and multi-award-winning Mr Lyan. Located in the basement of One Hundred Shoreditch hotel, it signals the return of Mr Lyan to his East London home, an area in which the magic began with his first bar venture. The award-winning House of Burlesque announces the return of Burlesque Idol. Europe’s oldest burlesque competition is taking up a monthly residency at The Hippodrome’s underground cabaret bar, Lola’s, from Friday, 25th March. Lola’s hides beneath The Hippodrome, an iconic cornerstone of West End entertainment that continues to push boundaries and provides a platform to support and showcase emerging talent. Burlesque Idol 2022 will be its 13th year, and the competition invites tassel-twirling starlets from the length and breadth of the UK to shimmy, tease and lampoon their way to victory. Each guest receives a ballot paper allowing them to cast their all-important vote, and whilst votes are counted, guest performers from the judging panel will take the stage!
