Christmas Brunch at The Table Review
Now we are in the December countdown, we can officially start getting excited about Christmas! For me finding the best spots in London to enjoy seasonal food and drink is the highlight of the season, and a Christmas-inspired brunch is the pinnacle of this.
We headed to the Table, an award-winning brunch restaurant in Southwark who have launched an all-new Christmas Brunch, Lunch and Dinner menus. Known for its creative take on brunch classics, their holiday twist for groups of 8 or more includes a festive starter and main for just £25 per person.
Starting with a festive cocktail in hand, we soaked in the Christmas spirit with subtle seasonal music in the background and beautiful decorations woven into the restaurants quirky décor, it was my first time feeling Christmassy of the year which always gets me in the most amazing mood.
We opted for a plant-based offering, which had some great options which can be rare for brunch places. Starting with chestnut Falafel with cranberry sauce; a delightful way to style up the humble vegan classic falafel, sweet.

For the mains we decided to share the two vegan options; The Table Festive Veggie; avocado, roasted Brussel sprouts, chestnut/ leek/sage stuffed mushrooms, confit cherry tomatoes, sweet potato rounds, veggie 'pigs in blankets', and the Table Festive Veggie Burger; Home-made mushroom/chestnut/leek/sage patty, cranberry jelly, lettuce, tomatoes, vegan garlic mayonnaise, port + blackcurrant gravy on a homemade brioche burger bun.
The Breakfast was full of fresh ingredients, and nutritious plants to fill you up for the day, whilst the burger was beautifully indulgent and felt like a real brunch treat. Served with all the trimmings Rosemary/garlic/olive oil roasted potatoes, cumin + orange scented baby carrots and salt-caramel parsnips and brussels sprouts. The burger was the winner for me, I’ll be coming back for this alone.

Finishing with Black Forest waffle; with mascarpone cream, toasted hazelnuts, and chocolate sauce, drizzled with maple syrup, this was enough to fill us up for the day and warranted an afternoon nap.
One of the area's best known brunch spots, The Table’s Christmas brunch offers the perfect setting to come together with friends for that end of year festive meet-up. The food, the ambience and the staff really encompass the festive spirit, you’ll leave with plenty of festive cheer!
